⦿Phone Call from a Stranger – 1952 film

Gary Merrill, Shelley Winters, Bette Davis … Keenan Wynn, Michael Rennie

Interesting story, well done.
‘While waiting on a delayed flight, David Trask (Merrill), who has left his unfaithful wife, meets three of his fellow passengers.
When the aircraft crashes, he is one of few survivors, and sets out to resolve their unfinished business.’   (iMDb)

  1. Ooh! This sounds like a great movie! I’ll have to give it a whirl! Thanks for the recommendation and for putting it here. I enjoy Bette Davis movies.

The description of this film reminds me of another old movie…it’s from the 1970’s and is called The Letters. When a postal airplane crashes, all of its cargo is destroyed. But a year later some letters are found and a postman returns them to Elaine (Jane Powell), Penelope (Dina Merrill) and Karen (Pamela Franklin). The contents of the missing letters change their lives.

Did you see the series called Feud on the FX channel about Joan Crawford and Bette Davis? It was interesting!

    HUGS!!! 🙂

  2. It’s good movie discovered in passing on YT. Gary Merrill & Bette Davis were married at the time. I happened to see a biography on Bette the other day.
It was reported that when Crawford died, Bette said: ‘My mother always told me, if you don’t have something good to say about someone, say nothing. Joan Crawford is dead. Good.’ Yikes.
I’d heard of Fued but I don’t have tv
